Photogenesis : For Artists
Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, Photogenesis is a web-based image-representation firm deep in its development phase. The site you're currently viewing is v0.5, our live prototype aimed at giving the imagery world a taste of who we are and what we're about. Our full-featured v1.0, currently under development and planned for launch in 2007, will raise the industry bar in terms of its user-friendliness, its browsable layout (in addition to its search functionality), and its aesthetic appeal – not to mention its innovative photographer's ‘studio’ on the back end.
In building our image library, we’re adhering to exceptionally high standards of artistic merit, accepting only photos that exist at the most expressive edge of commercial viability. (We think of ourselves as a fine art agency more than a stock agency.) Our special focus is on geographically diverse 'world imagery' that offers viewers a deep sense of connection – with the image content, with one another, and with the range of human experience and natural wonder around the globe.
You’ll also be pleased to know that we count generosity, transparency, and integrity in our artist relations among our highest priorities. This fair-minded approach, combined with our positioning as a fine-art brand, mean that being a Photogenesis artist will carry distinction and privilege far beyond what's typical in the stock-image world. Photographers represented on our site will enjoy much greater exposure (including an interactive gallery dedicated solely to their work), consistently higher commissions, greater information disclosure, prompter accounting, and more equitable legal practices than other agencies are known for... not to mention promotional tie-ins with physical galleries and cross-marketing opportunities in fine-art prints.
